Underwater Astrolabe Reef 7
Out of the light zone, the Kelp community gives way to sponge. This image was taken sub 30m and is a good example of a organ Finger Sponge (Raspailia topsenti) and surrounded by Pink Mao Mao (Caprodon longimanus). This image was taken prior to the MV Rena wrecking on Astrolabe Reef in 2011.
