Mt Tongariro (158 images)
The Tongariro National Park is New Zealand's oldest national park which was established in 1887. Mount Tongariro recently erupted on the 6th August 2012 near the Te Maari craters and Ketetahi Hut. A popular one day walk, the Tongariro Crossing cuts across the park and takes several hours. These images are from this trail on a perfect winters day when the sun was high and snow fresh. Horizontal visibility was in excess of 130km, which is the distance we could see Mount Taranaki to the west.
